Strengthening Families Program: For Parents and Youth
The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) is a FREE parenting and family skills program for families. Families learn how to strengthen their relationships, spend one on one play time with their child(ren), set clear and firm boundaries, and develop healthy family communication skills. The entire family attends the program and practices the skills together as a family.

The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) is a FREE parenting and family skills program for families. Families learn how to strengthen their relationships, spend one on one play time with their child(ren), set clear and firm boundaries, and develop healthy family communication skills. The entire family attends the program and practices the skills together as a family.
- The program is 10 sessions long for 2.5 hours
- The program begins with a family meal lasting 30 minutes.
- After meal time families are split into groups, 1 group ages 3-5, 1 group ages 6-11 and Parent Group for 1 hour.
- The next hour families come together for Family Group to reinforce the skills they learned during group time.
- Each week a new lesson is introduced. Some lessons are: Talking and Listening Skills, Goals, Rewarding Good Behavior, Saying “No”, Problem Solving, Family Meetings and Expressing Feelings.
- Families that meet the graduation requirements will receive a gift card and family basket at the completion of the program.
