Job Title: Prevention Program Coordinator Reports to: Program Director FLSA Status: Non exempt Classification: Full Time/40 Hours Specifications: Must be able to work afternoons and evenings Pay Scale: Position starts at $16.50 with and increase after 90 days.
Summary: Coordinate and implement designated youth, teen, and family prevention programs that will be provided both during and after school. Oversee communication, scheduling and data collection for prescribed prevention programs. Participate in leadership and community engagement activities that will better position Focus on Community for success in prevention practices. Prescribed Programs for this position, including but are not limited to Botvin Lifeskills, Strengthening Families, Families and Schools Together, Food Frenzy, Opportunities Club, Extended Learning, and Family Game Night.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities The duties listed below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work of this position. The list is not meant to be exhaustive or restrictive. Other duties may be assigned. • Engage in training and preparation for the implementation of the prescribed prevention programs. • Attend and oversee the implementation of the Extended Learning Opportunities Club Program • Oversee the Teen Peer Educators at program sites • Engage as part of a FAST or Strengthening Families Team to ensure the successful implementation of the program • Attend and teach the Lifeskills program with fidelity at designated sites • Develop program curriculum and activities for program as needed • Facilitate any other prescribed programs with fidelity by following the approved curriculums. • Implement the program policies put forth by the Program Director • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the key people and locations chosen for the prescribed prevention programs. • Document all activities of the projects using forms developed for this purpose. Maintain copies of all project correspondence. • Turn in all documentation and paperwork in a timely manner • When prescribed, attend in the capacity designated, evening programming geared towards youth and family development • Participate in outreach activities for the purpose of networking and enhancing program success. • Establish and maintain files for each youth involved in the prescribed programs as needed. Files should include parent permission forms, attendance records, trained observer reports, and progress notes. • Assist in the completion of all necessary reports for the prescribed programs regarding the project in sufficient time before the due date so that they may be approved by the Program and Executive Directors. • Attend designated recruitment events for Focus programs as assigned • Work closely with other Focus staff to ensure the success of each program. • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience ● College degree and/or two years of relevant experience, excellent organizational and written skills. ● Experience working with youth ages 3 - 17 ● Experience coordinating and managing ● Willingness to work varied hours including evenings and weekends as needed. Computer Skills Experience working with Google Drive, Google Docs and Google Forms preferred. Knowledge of basic computer hardware and software applications including email, Internet and Microsoft Office
Availability Must be available to work a maximum of two nights a week as needed.
