Work with youth |
This position will put you right in the classroom where you will be able to work with youth ages 10 - 12 years old teaching valuable life and resilience skills. This work is so important because it helps build assets and prepare these young people to be more capable of avoiding risky behavior and leading healthier lives. Work with Teens | This position will also put you in the role of Teen Peer Coordinator. You will oversee the recruitment, training and management of the Teen Peer Educators. These teens are recruited from the community to serve as mentors and junior facilitators in our programs. They work with youth in a variety of afterschool and evening programs, participate in leadership training and work as advocates for our substance abuse prevention efforts. In addition to the primary role as a Lifeskills Facilitator and Teen Peer Coordinator this role will give you the opportunity to put your creativity to work in our after school programming. Here you will be able to design and implement your own initiatives focused on helping the youth participants develop assets and skills. These programs are instrumental in ensuring our youth participants have a safe place to spend their time after school where they are receiving positive influences and opportunities.
