Dear Focus Friends:
Focus on Community has been serving Racine for 35 years! We are very excited to continue to bring innovative prevention programs to our community.
We at Focus are constantly working to implement some of the best programs available as well as develop new ways to serve the community. Prevention is paramount to the success of our community, as substance abuse is a key risk factor in many of the issues we face.
Our work spans more than just prevention, by eliminating substance abuse we can increase academic performance, diminish mental illness, improve athletic performance, decrease the number of those affected by a variety of preventable diseases, help the environment and so much more.
Please take some time to learn about who we are, what we do and how you can help make our community a better place to live.
We are starting our national campaign, Parents who Host Lose the Most, to prevent parents from hosting drinking parties for youth in Racine County. Parents who Host Lose the Most is a community effort that alerts parents to the legal and health related consequences of purchasing, providing or pouring alcohol for anyone under the age of 21.
With prom and graduation time quickly approaching, we are trying to get the message out to parents that alcohol should not be provided for these parties and events.
