Advancing Family Assets Coach

Position Description Summary
Full-time, hourly, non-exempt. Benefits eligible, flexible schedule, PTO.
The duties listed below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work of this position.  The list is not meant to be exhaustive or restrictive. Other duties may be assigned. 
Assists low-income families and individuals in increasing financial and overall stability through social support, skill building, and connection to resources. Respects the dignity and self-determination of all people, using a client-centered and trauma-informed approach to motivate clients towards healthier behaviors. Develops professional relationships with clients and community partners. Organizes and participates in street-based and community outreach activities and events. Position will report to the Director of Youth and Family Services and the AFA Program Manager.

Educational Requirements
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
BSW or related degree preferred
 
Minimum Qualifications
2 years of direct service experience working with young adults or families in a non-profit setting.
Experience with case management, clinical documentation, or treatment planning.
Maintains empathy and professionalism in varied settings and mediums.
Handles and communicates sensitive information appropriately.
Punctual and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in addition to meeting productivity standards.

Additional Considerations
  • Must have access to reliable transportation.
  • Familiarity with community resources and systems is a plus.
  • Bilingual and multilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
